(Mac Rebel Dupe!) Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick

Being the lipstick addict that I am I have been dying to try out Rimmel's new Moisture Renew lipsticks. Having dry lips is a lipstick lovers worst nightmare, whenever I wear lipstick a couple hours later my lips feel like they've left me and gone to a desert. So moisturising lipsticks are something that always interest me.

Although no lipstick is ever going to be as moisturising as a lip balm, Rimmel's Moisture Renew lipsticks definitely come close, if you were ever to make a lipstick out of butter I imagine these are what that would feel like. It is the softest lipstick I've ever applied! However that does mean you can end up with slightly clown looking lips if your not careful when applying it, I'd definitely recommend a lip liner before applying these lipsticks.

They have an amazing range of colours but there was one that was calling to me, once I got home I realised why! The colour I picked up was Dark Knight Water-oops! and if you read my last post you'll have seen I recently purchased Mac's Rebel lipstick in a Mac haul, these two colours are almost identical, they were so similar I couldn't wait to share!

MAC Rebel £15

Rimmel Moisture Renew Dark Knight Water-oops £6.49
As you can see these lipsticks are almost identical, being a moisturising lipsticks Dark Knight Water-oops has more of a shine to it than Mac's Rebel and it is slightly darker in colour but these are slight differences and the colour is gorgeous in it's own right! I love both these lipsticks but if your on a budget Dark Knight Water-oops is a great lipstick to get your hands on.

Get it at Boots or Superdrug for £6.49

(Late) September Favourites

So I'm a bit late with my September favourites this month, partly because I can't actually believe its October already! Where has this year gone?! My other reason is that I've just been a lazy blogger recently (whoops) but here it is :).

1.Illamasqua Eye Brow Cake in Gaze - This is my favourite eye brow powder right now, I have been using my Maybelline pencil to outline the shape of my brows, then filling them in with this powder and I love it! It is a cool brown unlike a lot of powders which are more warm tones and don't worry it doesn't go on as dark as it looks!

2. Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 107 - My favourite thing about Autumn is wearing darker colours on my lips and this colour by Rimmel is my current favourite. It's a beautiful wine colour and lasts well on the lips. I have been wearing this with a simple, black winged liner, this is my go-to Autumn look.

3. Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Eternal Gold - I have been loving using this to create a golden smokey eye this month. This as a base for any gold shadow creates a beautiful vibrant gold that lasts all day long!

4. Illamasqua Blush in Tremble - This has been my go-to blush this month, it looks like a very pale pink in the pan but on the cheeks it just gives a lovely peachy pink glow. Weirdly enough it also smells amazing!

5. Illamasqua Precision Ink in Abyss - A lot of people don't seem to like this liquid liner and to be honest the formula is a bit strange, its very wet and when your taking it off it comes off in bits but I actually still really like this liner! It lasts all day and the applicator brush makes applying the liner very easy and fast.

6. China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy - No matter what time of year it is I always wear bright nail polish and this is my all time favourite, it is a luminous bright peachy colour and looks amazing on the nails. It does require a top coat to give it shine though as it dries slightly matte.

7. L'Oreal Ever Riche Nourishing Intense Mask - Since letting my hair grow out (way past my boobs now!) it's always so tangled especially when its wet so washing my hair and trying to detangle it afterwards has become such a chore as I'm sure it is for most people with long hair, but since I've started using this hair mask my hair has been so soft and smooth and when I'm brushing through it after I've washed it there are literally no tangles! It has been a life saver this past month and I'll definitely be repurchasing it after this one runs out.

Boots/Drug Store Haul: Revlon, L'Oreal, Rimmel...

So after a long days work I went into Boots feeling extremely sorry for myself and decided I needed some retail therapy (any excuse!). Here are the little treats I picked up...

L'Oreal Hair Expertise Ever Strong Reinforcing & Vitality Shampoo and Conditioner - A couple years ago for some crazy reason I decided I would get a bob, they look amazing on some people but unfortunately I am not one of these people! I hated it and it scarred me for life, I've been terrified to get my haircut ever since which has resulted in my now very long (past my boobs!) hair becoming dry and brittle after various different hair colours over the years and only a handful of haircuts. After reading a lot good things about this haircare range I decided to give it a go and hope it will help my hair in some way so that I don't have to get it all chopped off again. These also contain no sulphates which is very good for the hair as it stops all the natural oils being stripped from the hair the way some shampoos with sulphates do when you are washing your hair,
I am on a healthy hair mission as of now!

L'Oreal Hair Expertise Ever Strong and Ever Riche Nourishing Hair Masks - I'm never one to miss a bargain and as all the L'Oreal Hair products were 2 for £9 I decided to pick up 2 masks instead of one. So I got the Ever Strong mask in keeping with my other purchases and then decided on the Ever Riche Nourishing mask just to give my hair some extra nourishment.

The last things I got were some make-up bits. My favourite drug store powder - Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in translucent as I my current one smashed into a thousand pieces :( and as Revlon are still doing 2 for £10 on all Lip products I picked up another Colour Burst Lip Butter in Pink Lemonade and a Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Lovers Coral, which after swatching it I am disappointed to say is not really a lipstick at all but more of a lip butter consistency. I know I should have swatched it in the shop but I just saw the colour and had to have it! Won't be making that mistake again.

Favourite Lipsticks

Hey guys,
Lipsticks are probably my favourite make-up product to buy, I love to wear them with just a basic make-up (foundation, powder, bronzer, bit of blush and mascara) to add a pop of colour and make the look a bit less bland, my make-up doesn't feel complete without something on my lips! So I thought I'd share with you 4 of my most reached for lipsticks, 2 summer colours and 2 autumn colours as the summer months are on the way out sadly.

1. MAC Impassioned - This is a vibrant pink that definitely adds a pop of colour to your look, this looks especially nice with black winged liner on the upper lash line or nothing on the eyes at all except some mascara which at college was my go to look almost every day.

2. L'Oreal Colour Riche Magnetic Coral - As I mentioned in a previous post this is probably my favourite colour for summer! It is a beautiful coraly orange colour and looks amazing with almost any look, I wear this during the day with only some mascara on the eyes or at night with a bronze smokey eye. On holiday I wore this colour almost every night with a dark smokey eye, it doesnt make you look as over done as a red lip could look with such heavy eye make up it just ties your look together perfectly.

3. Rimmel Starry-eyed - This wine coloured lipstick is exactly what I think of when I think of autumn make-up. It is a slightly bold colour but once you work up the courage to wear it you'll never look back, this with a winged liner and some strong cheek contour is a beautiful  but edgey look perfect for the autumn months.

4. Rimmel Kate Moss 01 - This deep red is a beautiful autumn colour and reminds me of Christmas! This shade looks best with a winged liner or smudged kohl liner on the upper and lower lash line, keep it simple. I don't have much more to say about this lipstick (mental block) other than I love it!

Here are some swatches...

MAKE-UP LOOK: Peachy Keen!

Hey Guys,
Since I had a day off this morning I decided I was going to create some more make-up looks for y'all! While looking through my kit I found a palette I completely forgot I had. I discovered this palette in college during a fantasy look assessment, I was finding that the colours I had weren't vibrant enough for the colourful look I was going for and my friend gave me her palette to use. It was a god send, the colours were perfect for my look and so bright! When she told me where it was from and the price I couldn't believe it, the palette is from a brand I've never heard of 'Technic', it can be bought in Bodycare and cost around £3.99, so I obviously went out and bought my own. But until now I hadn't even taken it out the wrapper ha! So when I found it this morning I thought I'd try a wearable look using it.

As you can see not exactly the most wearable colours! But anyways on to the look, this is a very versatile look you could change the black gel liner to brown pencil for a very wearable daytime look, add lashes for a park look. As it is I'd wear this look out for lunch or dinner, somewhere I would want to make an effort for but not look too done up :)

1. Take the pinky/peachy colour from the palette (top row 2nd from left) and apply to the inner corner of the eye.
2. Taking the champagne colour directly bellow, apply to the rest of the lid and blend the two together.
3. Taking Smog from the Urban Decay Naked palette, apply the the outer corner and blend.
4. To create more definition place Darkhorse from the same Urban Decay palette in the very outer V of the eye and blend with a clean brush. Keep blending until you are happy with the colour and intensity.
5. Taking a black gel liner create a winged line on the upper lash line.
6. Take Half Baked 3/4 along the lower lash line and then Darkhorse along the final quarter of the lower lash line.
7. Line the water line with flesh coloured kohl pencil (I used Rimmel Scandal Eyes in the colour Nude).
8.Apply your favourite mascara, fill your brows in and the eyes are done!

For the lips I used a combination of MAC Creme D'Nude with Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya over the top for a peachy nude colour.

Hope you enjoyed this look! I will share any other looks I can come up with using this palette :)

FOTD

Hey girls,
So after posting my Vichy Dermablend review I had to jump to the shops and as I was finishing off the rest of my make up I thought I'd post a quick Face Of The Day. This may be very boring to most but this will just show you my day to day make-up when I'm not doing much and the products I use :)

First I set my foundation with Rimmel Stay Matte setting powder using a large powder brush I press this over my foundation to keep everything in place. I then use an angled contour brush and the Contour colour in the Sleek Contour Kit to define my cheekbones (or lack of) once I have done this I go back to my large powder brush to blend the contour so there are no harsh lines.

Then just using the same brush I used for contour I apply blusher to the apple of my cheeks brushing slightly up my cheek bone to lift my face. I then once again blend using my powder brush to bring everything together.

I then curl my lashes (if I can be bothered that day) and apply a couple coats of mascara. Lastly using a small angled brush I mix the black and brown shade below the blackin the HD Brow Palette to fill in my brows.

And here is the finished look! A very simple natural look for going about my daily business. What make up to you like for day to day life?
